Coordinate and complement... not matchy matchy! The goal is to look really well put together without looking like your family is a softball team wearing matching uniforms.Start out with a basic color palette and go from there. It can help to have one "rock star" in the photos whose outfit has a pattern that the rest of the group pulls from, while keeping everyone else's outfits simple. Try a neutral and a few colorful brights, or a softer palette that has different tonal ranges of the same shades. Blue universally photographs beautifully.
Please don't wear glow in the dark Nikes! The choice of shoes can make or break an outfit. Hip, distressed boots or colorful ballet flats can tie everything together. We don't want your shoes to be the star of the show, but to complement your look.
I want you to be YOU! Bring your favorite outfits to the shoot. I recommend having at least three different looks and don't forget your college t-shirt. Tips:Solid colors with pretty necklines photograph well.Bring a pair of jeans and maybe throw in a pair of white jeans.Dresses add a sophisticated flair to a shoot. For jewelry, wear that special necklace or earrings. If you are a fashionista, bring it on with bold colors, big jewelry and signature shoes.
I encourage the guys to bring at least one solid shirt as well as one with pattern. Favorites are encouraged. Jeans or khakis work well and pair with a simple, brown shoe.
